Hey guys! I'm curious to learn your stories about how you evaluate yourself and choose your rate.

    Hello Community,

Iโ€™m glad this is my very first post! ๐Ÿ™‚

So, I think this may be a sensitive topic, as we all may have different opinions about it, and some opinions may be very distant from others (which is completely fine).

In my opinion, you got to be flexible (it is not a hard rule). Itโ€™s not the same working on a project for a corporation or well-funded startup, as it is working for a small business. You may charge depending on what the customer is willing to pay, as agreed during a meeting; but still within a considerable range that works for both of you.

Aside from that, I believe that time is the most important resource in my life, and it has no recovery/backup options; therefore, I charge customers based on two main points: My Experience & The Task they want me to perform.

Also worth mentioning, that we live in a globalized world, so most of the time I charge my clients regardless of their location. Prices of goods/things/services are almost the same wherever you go, so why would your labor be cheaper?

I never feel bad for charging what my labor is worth. ๐Ÿ˜Ž
